COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Information on how to enter and the prizes on offer forms part of these terms and conditions. By participating in the competition, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. All entries must comply with these terms and conditions to be valid.

1. Details of the competition 

1.1. General details

Game: Timberborn

Competition start: July 10th, 2025 - 2.00 PM CEST

Competition end: August 10th, 2025 - 11.59 PM CEST

Promoters (individually, and together):

  1. mod.io Pty Ltd (ACN 628 999 039) of Level 3/390 Malvern Road, Prahran VIC 3181, Australia  (mod.io); and
  2. Mechanistry sp. z o.o. (PL5272775893) with its registered office at Rondo Daszyńskiego 2B, 00-843 Warsaw, Poland (Mechanistry).

Winner announcements: By August 29, 2025, via Twitter, Facebook, Discord, BlueSky, Instagram, and Reddit. 

Total prize pool value: The total cash prize pool is 3400 EUR.

2. Eligibility to enter and how to enter

2.1. Entrant eligibility: For mods to be eligible, the creator must:

  • Have a single active user account on mod.io when the Prizes are determined and at the last day of the relevant month. Duplicate accounts will be grouped or banned;
  • Have agreed to, and not be in breach of, the mod.io or Mechanistry’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and any other policies as may be required by Mechanistry or mod.io from time to time;
  • Not be employed or provide services for mod.io, Mechanistry, or be related to or live with someone who does; and
  • Live in a jurisdiction where they are able to participate in unregistered competitions for games of skill. 

2.2 Submission eligibility: For mod(s) to be eligible, the mod must:

  • Be your original creation;
  • Be publicly available and visible on mod.io;
  • Be active and not taken down from mod.io for any reason;
  • Be compatible with the latest version of the Game;
  • Be correctly submitted by the submission date (August 10, 2025, 11.59 PM CEST);
  • Be tagged with the “Build-A-Map Contest 5” tag on mod.io;
  • Have a minimum of three unaltered screenshots on its mod.io listing, including at least one with the map shown in its entirety; and
  • Comply with the relevant Game EULA and any other policies required by Mechanistry from time to time.

2.3. How to enter: All eligible mods and creators will be automatically considered for entry into the competition. Multiple entries per creator are permitted subject to compliance with these terms and conditions.

3. Prize Pool and Individual Prizes

3.1. Prizes do not include payment of tax, insurance, or any other liabilities which are the sole responsibility of the winner.

3.2. The specifics of the prize pool shall be solely determined by Mechanistry

3.3. No prize substitution shall be permitted except at Mechanistry’s sole and absolute discretion.

3.4. Payments will be made net of any applicable taxes that Mechanistry is legally required to withhold under relevant tax laws. All other applicable taxes, duties or levies remain the sole responsibility of the winner, in accordance with the laws and tax obligations of their jurisdiction.

3.5. All Prizes will be distributed during or after the close of the Competition.

3.6. If a Prize is not accepted or claimed within three months of the Competition Term end, the relevant Winner’s entry will be deemed invalid and Mechanistry will distribute any unclaimed Prizes to the next best ranking entry or entries (as applicable), as determined by the judges or Mechanistry  in its absolute discretion.

3.7. mod.io assumes no responsibility for any failure to receive an entry or for inaccurate information or for any loss, damage or injury as a result of technical or telecommunications problems, including security breaches. If such problems arise, the Promoter may modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the Competition.

4. Selection of Winners and Winner Announcements

4.1 The best entries, as determined by Mechanistry in their sole discretion, will win the Prizes. This competition is a game of skill, and chance plays no part in determining the winner.

4.2. Winners will also be notified directly by mod.io via DM on the mod.io site or via the email found on their mod.io account to request their payment details.

4.3. Mechanistry will make payment of cash prizes as soon as practicable upon final verification of eligibility. 

4.4. It is your responsibility to notify the Promoter if your contact details change during the prize distribution process. A request to access or modify any information provided as part of the redemption of a Prize should be directed to mod.io using the contact details provided below.

5. Payment Eligibility

5.1. To be eligible to receive a cash prize payment the Winner must:

  • Have a bank account that can receive payments from the payment provider;
  • Have parental approval if the winner is under the age of consent in their country, and be able to demonstrate this approval on request; 
  • Undergo all  required AML, KYC, or KYB processes; and
  • Provide bank account details in the requested format within 28 days of the Winner Announcement date.

5.2. Payments are forfeited without recourse if the payment eligibility criteria are not met within the required timeframe.

6. Fees and Taxes

6.1. Winners will receive their prize less any applicable fees associated with the payment, including but not limited to: currency exchange fees, cross-border transaction fees, and intermediary or receiving bank charges.

6.2. By accepting the prize, winners may be required to confirm that the prize is not received in connection with a business, employment, or regular income-earning activity. The tax treatment of each prize will depend on each Winner’s personal tax circumstances and applicable laws in their country of residence.

6.3. Currency Conversion

Prize amounts will be converted to the Winner’s local currency using the exchange rate on the payment date as determined by the payment provider.

If the local currency is not supported, the prize will be paid in the currency in which the competition was held.

6.4. Winner Responsibilities

Winners are solely responsible for:

  • Completing any AML (Anti-Money Laundering), KYC (Know Your Customer), or KYB (Know Your Business) procedures reasonably required by the selected payment provider(s);
  • Bearing any bank or intermediary fees, including those arising from incorrect or incomplete bank details; and
  • Complying with local tax reporting requirements and paying any taxes, duties, or charges due on the prize received.

7. Personal data processing

7.1. Personal information including the Winner’s name, contact information, address, and nominated bank account details telephone number will be collected and used for the purpose of conducting this Competition. This may require disclosure to third parties, including local regulatory authorities and the Promoter’s agents or third party service providers, for the purpose of conducting the Competition, or for promotional and marketing purposes (Purpose).

7.2. By entering this Competition and accepting a winning Prize, you consent to the use of your personal information for the Purpose, and agree that mod.io and  Mechanistry may contact you for future marketing and material purposes. Personal information will only be used for the Purpose, and in accordance with the privacy policy of mod.io, available at www.mod.io/privacy, and the privacy policy of  Mechanistry, available at www.mechanistry.com/privacy.

7.3. If you do not consent to the use of your personal information for the Purpose, you may reject the Prize or refuse to provide the information when requested by mod.io.

8. Additional terms and conditions

8.1. Notwithstanding the eligibility criteria, Mechanistry and mod.io reserve the right to exclude any creator or mod from the program for any reason.

8.2. By entering this Competition, you grant mod.io and Mechanistry a non-exclusive licence to use the content of their entry, or any part of the content of the entry, in any way the Promoters wish (including modifying, adapting, copying, cropping, retouching, editing, publishing, broadcasting or communicating the entry whether in original or modified form in whole or in part) in all media for the purposes of the Promoter’s business on its website, social media or in any marketing campaign, without payment to the entering creator of royalties or compensation. If requested by either of the Promoters, you agree to sign any further documentation required by the Promoter to give effect to this clause.

8.3. Creators who are found to have acted in bad faith, in mod.io’s sole discretion, will be permanently excluded from this and any future competitions.

8.4. If a mod has been created through the contributions of multiple parties, only the primary creator, as credited on the mod page, is eligible to enter and win prizes;

  • Mods that are trying to "game" the system in any way to win will be disqualified from participation; and
  • The decisions of Mechanistry and mod.io staff regarding eligibility, Winner Selection Criteria, and winners of the competition (Winner) are final and binding on all creators.

8.5. Winners may have rights under the Australian Consumer Law and other similar legislation which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified by mod.io. These terms and conditions do not exclude, restrict or limit those statutory rights in any way. However, to the extent that it is permitted to do so by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability whether arising in tort (including without limitation negligence), contract or otherwise for any personal injury or any other loss or damage (including without limitation loss of opportunity or loss of profits) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition, including, without limitation:

  • any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control);
  • any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
  • any entry that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter;
  • any variation in market value to that stated in these terms and conditions;
  • any tax implications; or
  • the Prize(s) or use of the Prize(s).

9.2. If you have a complaint or concern about the competition (other than privacy complaints), please first contact us and Mechanistry at the contact details above and give us at least 30 days to provide a satisfactory resolution to your complaint.
